Terms of Service

Welcome to Grift. By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Grift.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to use Grift. By using the app you represent that you meet that age requirement.

2. Your account

• You sign in with Apple or Google. You’re responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID or Google account secure.
• One person, one account. Don’t impersonate other people or organizations.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Me tab. Deletion is permanent.

3. Posts and content

• You’re responsible for everything you post. You retain ownership of your content; by posting you grant Grift a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content inside the app.
• You agree not to post content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, deceptive, infringing, or that promotes violence or self-harm.
• We may remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate them.
• Posts and comments are screened automatically for prohibited content when they are created or edited. A post may be held from public view until a person reviews it, a picture comment may be removed, and an edit that fails screening may be undone. See our Privacy Policy for details.
• Grift caps each account at four posts per day (we may occasionally grant an account extra posts). Posts auto-expire 3 days after they are published.

4. Reporting and blocking

• Use the in-app Report action on a post or user to flag content for review. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
• Use the in-app Block action to stop seeing another user’s content. Blocking is symmetric: blocked users will not see your content either.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the app or its backends.
• Use automated tools to create, modify, or interact with content unless we expressly permit it.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or data.
• Use the app to spam, defraud, or otherwise harm other users.

6. Virtual items and purchases

Grift includes virtual items: arcade tokens, tickets, and coal; Goin; Grift Score; and cosmetics such as avatar borders, post effects, and titles (“Virtual Items”). Greemium is an optional membership.

Virtual Items in general

• Virtual Items are licensed, not sold. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use them inside the app. You don’t own them.
• Virtual Items have no cash or monetary value. They cannot be transferred, sold, traded, or exchanged for real money, goods, or services, inside or outside the app, and we will never redeem them for cash.
• We may change, rebalance, reset, expire, or remove Virtual Items (for example, daily tokens reset each day without carryover, seasonal items are available only during their season, and shop items rotate daily) at any time, and they may be lost if your account is suspended, terminated, or deleted. You are not entitled to any compensation for this, except where the law requires it.

The arcade

• Arcade tokens, tickets, and coal can never be bought with real money or with Goin. The arcade involves no wagering: plays use free tokens and can only add tickets, and you can never win or lose real money or anything of real-world value.
• Tickets and coal can be redeemed only inside the app, for cosmetics, Grift Score, or other Virtual Items.

Goin and the Goin Shop

• Goin is the currency of the Goin Shop. You can buy Goin with real money through the App Store or Google Play, and you can also earn small amounts free (for example, from your lifetime Grift Score and arcade tickets).
• Goin can be spent only in the Goin Shop, on cosmetics, Grifty Bags, and similar items. Goin can never buy arcade tokens, tickets, coal, or Grift Score.
• All Goin purchases are final once the Goin is delivered to your account, except as required by law or by the App Store or Google Play refund policies.

Grifty Bags

• A Grifty Bag gives you one random cosmetic you don’t already own. The current odds for each rarity are shown in the app before you open a bag. Grifty Bags are not available in some countries.
• If the app closes before a bag finishes opening, the bag is returned to you so you can open it again.

Greemium

• Greemium is a membership you buy in blocks of 1, 3, or 6 months. It is not an auto-renewing subscription: you are charged once per purchase, never automatically. Buying more while you’re a member adds the time on after your current end date. When your time runs out, the membership ends.
• Membership perks are described in the app and may change. Some cosmetics you receive (such as the Greemium border and post effect) stay on your account after your membership ends; member-only perks (such as the Greemium title, nameplate, and accent) do not.

Payments and refunds

• Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms, and refund requests are handled by them.
• If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we will remove what it gave you. If you have already spent it, we may remove items you bought with it, and anything still owed is taken from Goin you receive later. We may suspend accounts that abuse refunds.
• Prices are shown in the app at the time of purchase and may change.

7. Disclaimers and liability

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, Virtual Items, disclaimers, liability, dispute resolution) will survive.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will post a notice in the app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
